Relative Adoption
World View has extensive experience with relative adoptions from India.
Relative adoptions from India can only be carried out after approval from the Indian Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA). India (as of October 2011) is in the process of updating relative adoption guidelines. In case the child is under the age of 3, CARA will directly issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC). In all other cases, an assessment by the Child Welfare Committee of the (Indian) state will be required prior to issuance of an NOC.
The process of adoption starts with compliance with the laws of the province where the prospective parents reside. The initial steps you must undertake may be found on our How to Adopt page.
